KITE FLYING

Kite flying on the grounds and beach

10:00 - Dusk : Professional kite clubs will be
visiting from Halifax, Summerside, Dieppe,
NB, Quebec & Pictou County. Over 150 plus
kites! Come fly a kite accompanied by
music Saturday and late Sunday afternoon
and dusk.

Kite building workshop and safety
11:00, 1:00 (SAT & SUN) 3:00 (SAT ONLY) :
Build your own kite with all the glitz and
glitter that you can imagine, and learn about
kite flying safety. Afterwards fly your own
kite on the beach. $5.00 per person.
LOCATION: WENTWORTH ROOM.

Kite show and tell
Come inside and you will get to see beautiful
homemade kites from past and present.
LOCATION: JULIANA ROOM

Wood Carving by Keith & Ann from Carvers
See a master carver at work, Keith is the
proud carver of the Ship Hector figurehead,
the Griffin. Come check out his new project,
the Mermaid. LOCATION: REGISTRATION AREA

Hector Quay animators
Check out a Hector quay boat builder and
learn how the ship was built. This is your
chance to ask all the historical questions
about the Hector you’ve been dying to ask!

Official boating safety
Visit the 20 foot long Transport Canada
Boating Safety Trailer, and get educated
about boat safety.

Silent Auction
Taking place throughout the weekend and
closes at 4pm on Sunday. We will have a
variety of donated items related to Kite flying
and Kayaking plus a few unique donations.

A Barbeque café will set up on the terrace
and at the picnic tables.

a paddle, a surfboard and you! Give it a try!

Rescue 911
10:00-12:00 : Self and assisted rescues and
rolling demo. Learn the T, the Scoop, the
Hands of god, the cowboy, the assisted
Eskimo and more. Team Bugman will put
you through the washer...sorry no dryer!

Paddle with the Seals
1:00-4:00 : Bring your boat and join us as
we commune with the Grey Seals of Pictou.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to see one of
the largest ‘true’ seals in the world up close
and personal. The Grey Seal can grow up to
8’ long, weighing upwards of 800lbs.
LOCATION: BEACH (BYOB - BRING YOUR OWN BOAT)

Saturday Special Event ____

RELAY RACE!
4:00 pm : Put a Clan of 4 together and join
in on the fun. Don’t be afraid to dress up or
down for this wild n’ wet relay race! Prizes
for the winners. The reigning champions of
’06 is Clan Murray.
All the boats and equipment are supplied, all
you have to do is sign up and show up.
